Nutropia

For over two weeks now, I’ve been trying out a meal delivery program. I liked it a lot from the beginning, but I wanted to be sure it was good before recommending it to others. Well, I’m sure. (And no, I’m not getting any credit from them for referring others.) Go to Nutropia.com and check [...]

Transit strike?

For now, it looks like IF there’s a transit strike, it’s going to go into effect early Tuesday morning. I still intend to teach my Tuesday night classes at 16th and 8th, no matter what. I’m not sure exactly how it will be possible for me to get to the club without the subways running, [...]

Too much "junk in the trunk?"

None of you, my beloved svelte members, have to worry about this. Consider this, however, one more reason to keep coming to my classes!

Who you calling fat?

I’m not a big fan of using the Body Mass Index (based on a person’s weight and height) to determine whether someone is overweight. This is in large part because, according to my Body Mass Index, I’m overweight. I guess I’m one of the fat New Yorkers that denies he has a problem.

Go, Ali!

Congratulations to our beloved Alice Feldman, who ran the New York Marathon this past Sunday with a great time of 4:16:59. (That’s her in the middle, not to be confused with the two non-marathon-running, underachieving bums on either side of her.) Oh, and here’s a poster that one of Ali’s friends made….

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Alex is walking in the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in Central Park this Sunday. To sponsor him, go here. (“Kringelein” is Alex.) I’ve already contributed. Half of the money I gave was because Alex’s mother is a survivor of breast cancer. The other half was because Alex’s mother is a survivor of Alex.

Longer, not harder

You pig. What did you think this post was about? Anyway, most of us (let’s be honest) are more interested in keeping our butts small than our hearts healthy. There’s no denying, however, that a healthy heart is a wonderful “side effect” of working out. Do you have to kill yourself in class in order [...]

Vitamins? Don’t bother.

For over five years now, I’ve been popping a multi-vitamin every morning. VM-75. One pill has enough stuff in it to fortify a horse (and boy, does it smell like one too). Now I find out that I may have been wasting my time. Swallowing those stinky vitamins probably hasn’t been doing me any good. [...]
